Guidelines rather than Rules?

Isn’t this just the way it goes in Ciscoland?

In this paper on Deploying Wireless LAN Controllers, I ran across a choice tidbit while trying to figure out how to manually prime access points with a WLC IP address:

These steps are intended as guidelines rather than rules to illustrate the priming process. There are other approaches that essentially follow similar principles.

OF COURSE there are other approaches! This is Cisco, after all.

In fact, the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 7.0 (which only mentions priming in passing on page 951, by the way), is what lead me here.  But if you could just (please!) suggest where I might find one or two actual methods, that would be great…
